Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

Published March 2, 2010 by HarperCollins
Hardcover, 470 pages

What if you had only one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?

Samantha Kingston has it all—looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12th should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it’s her last. The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. In fact, she re-lives the last day of her life seven times, until she realizes that by making even the slightest changes, she may hold more power than she had ever imagined.--Goodreads

This book started out so strong and I was hooked right away. I thing the subject of what happens once you die is very interesting and Lauren did a great job in sharing her POV. During Sam’s journey I felt so many different emotions.
Anger, because I was so mad at Sam for being a follower for so long. She knew and felt some of the things she was doing was not right. Happy when she spent the day with her little sister. It was such a beautiful and memorable moment between sisters. Disgust at Rob, Sam’s boyfriend because he has a lot to learn about being in a relationship. But then again he is only 17/18 years old. Anticipation, for the kiss..aaaww the kiss. (sorry no spoilers). Sadness, because she wasted so much of her life being someone she really isn’t and deep down I just felt sorry for her. Dread, when nearing the end. I knew how this book was going to end but I just hoped somehow things would’ve ended differently. Surprise, at how far Lindz let things go and for so long with out thinking there would be no consequences to her actions. Hope. I wished Sam could have had more time with the new life she found at the end.
Even thought this book is centered around a very serious subject, it was so much fun to read. Sam and her friends had me laughing like crazy through out the book. These girls have tons of fun, and are truly dedicated to each other through all there faults. This was a wonderful rollercoaster ride that left me drained of all emotions for a couple of days. This is a must read so put it on the top of your TBR pile.

Ally-"I read once that if a bunch of butterflies takes off from Thailand, it can cause a rainstorm in New York."
"Yeah, well, one of your farts could cause a massive blackout in Portugal." Elody giggles, throwing a fry back.
"Your morning breath could cause a stampede in Africa." Ally leans forward. "And I do not fart."

Sex-o-meter: Some conversations and references to sex but no graphic scene. A couple of kissing scenes.

Drug-o-meter: Some drug and alcohol use.
