The scariest movie I have ever seen was Signs with Mel Gibson. The fact that you couldn't actually see the aliens freaked me out. And when I think about that scene in the cellar, in front of the grate... heebie jeebie city!
ReplyDeleteI found the Japanese version of Tale of 2 sisters was freaking freaky!! I usually don't like movies where I need to use the captioning but this one is worth it if you like horror!
ReplyDeleteGiselle
Xpresso Reads
The SHINING! The move is so creepy and terrifying. Paranormal Activity is a close second. :( The idea of evil spirits frightens me more than anything.
ReplyDeleteBethany
the scariest movie I've seen would be the Ring, I don't know why, but that movie scares me to death!
ReplyDeleteCassie
One of the scariest movies I have ever seen was The Descent! You won't find me in any caves any time soon, or ever!
ReplyDeleteAmanda Welling
hippiesbeautyandbooksohmy@gmail.com
hmm...The scariest movie I have ever seen, that I can remember, was 13 ghosts. I usually attempt to avoid scary movies.
ReplyDeleteJennelle
Ahh! So many decisions! Umm I would have to say Silent Hill. I love the whole story line and intense gory/horror scenes. I would say Insidious would be my second choice.
ReplyDeleteGina
I am such a baby with scary movies and I am not sure if it really counts, but the Jaws movies have scarred me for life! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I've ever seen was Antichrist. I really, really do NOT recommend seeing it. It is way too disturbing to have ever been made.
ReplyDeleteBekka
Are we allowed to only choose one of the extra entries? Because I can't seem to select them all. If we are, just include the entry I put via form and ignore this :P If not, then keep reading :)
ReplyDelete+1 comment: Hmmm...the scariest movie I've seen? Shoot, that's a hard one. I've never been much for scary movies and those that people have found scary have always bored me or made me laugh. Haha, I don't know what to say. However, if it counts, I've always been afraid of the Saw movies. I hate blood and guts and gore D:

ReplyDeleteGotta love the Scream Series! Best scary movies I can think of! Awesome Giveaway! : )
ReplyDeleteThe NIghtmare on Elm street, although I saw it when I was 5, so my opinion might change if I watch it in the future :)

Total 17 points I think :D
The form wouldn't let me mark each of them lol
I think one of my favorite/scariest movies that I've seen would be Intensity. (based on the book by Dean Koontz) It really freaked me out because it's one of those movies that could happen in real life!! Those are the best kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I don't really watch "scary" movies. I think the scariest one I've seen is Signs or any of the Final Destination movies, though those are more disgusting than scary, but they do leave you freaking out about normal everyday stuff, like tanning beds.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the gaveaways and the others to come,
- Megan

I seriously DON"T recommend Quarantine or any other motion crazy picture like it = motion sickness. I do recommend ....Slither haha I know its corny but its still scary! I loved it - it was icky. Oh yes and Planet Terror is one of my favs - I like corny terror if you can't tell.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a child, it was definitely The Exorcist. Then when The Grudge came out, it was that. There's no other movie that scares me more than the Grudge does, and I don't think I'll ever watch the Japanese version. haha
ReplyDelete(since there wasn't a space for me to put this), +10 for blogging- http://thehollowcupboards.blogspot.com/2011/10/great-giveaway-fun-on-another-blog.html
mcrs_venin(at)hotmail(dot)com
Mary, I did that too and I couldn't mark them all!
ReplyDeleteI would say The Grudge 2. I'm not a big fan of y movies so I haven't seen many, but of the ones I have thats definitely it!
My favorite scary movie is Signs!
ReplyDeleteFire in the Sky is really creepy, and based on a true story, if I remember correctly! If you want something super corny and hilarious, try to find The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra or Hard Rock Zombies. :P
ReplyDeleteWhat scares me most in horror movies is when you can hear children running or giggling or whisper-singing, but you can't see them. Creeps me the heck out.
Hey Guys!! I'm so sorry about the form and the check boxes. It is now fixed but please don't worry if you couldn't get to check them off before. I will check the comments before tallying up the entries for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe comments are great!! Keep them coming. I've heard Insidious is pretty scary but I haven't seen it. Maybe I'll check it out for Halloween.
Good Luck everyone!!
the scariest i have ever seen was 1408... freaked me out.....

ReplyDeletei'm one of those who got scared from the blair witch project
ReplyDeleteAliens ...the orginal! I was really little when I saw it though! Lol!
ReplyDeleteViajeradelmar@aol.com
Nothing beats the old Jason movies. If I have to be specific then I would choose Friday the 13th Camp Crystal Lake. Nothing instills such fear in me as the music when Jason is on the move... except for maybe Jaw (that movie really scared the crap out of me too!)
ReplyDeletehhammack@live.com
To be honest the movie that gives me nightmares literally every time I watch it is Titanic.
ReplyDelete...There's a possibility that I'm a total wimp.
Hi! I normally don't watch scary movies, but the scariest one I can think of is either the grudge or the ring. I watched the ring when I was a little kid and we all know how that turned out xD
ReplyDeletevampyreprincess109(at)gmail(dot)com
I don't like to watch scary movies but Paranormal Activity was pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteI think The exorcism of emily rose scared the pants off me more then any other movie. I still hate the time 3am. I've tried to follow but it's being stubborn.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a scary movie person. I think the scariest thing I've seen was one of the Final Destination movies. My boyfriend bugged me to watch it with him. (As a funny aside, my Halloween 'movie' of choice is The Halloween Tree. Been watching it since I was young and it's a tradition by this point.)

ReplyDeleteI think that the scariest movie I watched was Nightmare on Elm Street (The Original). What scared me was the thought that someone can get you in your dreams. Great giveaway. Thanks for the chance.

Scary movies have never really gotten to me with two exceptions....Pet Cemetary (my cat looked just like Church and loved to terrorize me at night) and The Grudge (something about that hair coming out of the ceiling).
ReplyDeleteI remember Jaws being super scary.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. Awesome prizes!
The scary movies i remember is anything with vincent price. He scared me good
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I've seen is an old one - Evil Dead. It gave me nightmares for weeks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this amazing giveaway! I follow on GFC as Suz and I would love to win! The scariest movie (or one of them anyway) is the Shining! Anything by Stephen King is always scary but good!
ReplyDeletesusanw28 (at) mindspring (dot) com
I'm a huge pansy. I actually gave up scary movies. What I'll tell you is what gave me nightmares as a child for years. YEARS. And they were awful - the kind that scar you for life if you don't have a great family/etc. you know? Gremlins.
ReplyDeleteAnd they say that after all these years Hitchcock's Psycho is still the #1 scariest movie out there.
Holy wicked awesome giveaway!! I'm a big wuss when it comes to scary movies, so I haven't seen all that many...my favorite would probably be From Hell because I love Johnny Depp and I have a sick fascination with Jack the Ripper lol
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I have ever seen has to be Paranormal Activity... There's a part at the end, where Katie is on the bed... and she looks at the camera... with that reallllly creepy grin! *shivers* ahh that part alone was stuck in my head for WEEKS! Every time I closed my eyes at night, there was Katie's grin! CREEPY!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I tweeted, posted on my blog, commented(obviously lol) & I grabbed the button and put it on my blogs sidebar.
Good luck everyone!
Happy Halloween!
Rose_Mary_88@live.ca
I'm not a big scary movie kind of person, but Pan's Labyrinth was the first one that came to mind.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't watch scary movies much anymore, but I did when I was little. I'd have to say one of the scariest at the time (I was like 7) was The Haunting. Just for the part where the stone lion thing rips that one guy's head off...
ReplyDeleteI think the scariest movie I'v ever seen was Children of the Corn. I shudder thinking about it! Thanks for this awesome Bash :-)
ReplyDelete-Dawn aka dawnmomoffour
thedoyle6@rogers.com
Wolf Creek is pretty scary, in the fact that it seems so realistic, kind of like those movies of the 70's like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween.
ReplyDeleteOoohhh, the scariest movie was definitely The Shining! It still freaks me out!
ReplyDeleteI think The Ring and Grudge are the scariest movies I've seen. I don't usually watch scary movies though because they give me nightmares, haha. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't really watch a lot of scary films because I'm a wimp, but the scariest films I've seen: Poltergeist for sure... And I was insanely afraid of Childs Play after my babysitter watched it in front of me back when I was a kid. Never could have dolls. :/ Doesn't scare me much now though. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I love reading everyones reponses!!
Liza @ Book Crook Liza
The scariest movie I've ever seen is...Alfred Hitchcock's, The Birds. It gives me the shivers! I still get wierded out when I see a bunch of those black birds gathered together. I just know they are up to something...and it can't be good!
ReplyDeletebarbbattaglia@yahoo.com
The scariest movie I've ever seen is the original, international version of Let the Right One In.
ReplyDeleteinfalliblyyours@gmail.com
The Fourth Kind for me was super scary .. mainly because it's based on a true story and they used actual video from the real life event . those kind always freak me out the most.

Scariest movies I've seen are the Paranormal Activity movies.. Scary because they seem so real!
ReplyDeletekristy at dreamingbyday dot com
The original Halloween. I saw it very young, like five, and have never gotten over it. Michael Myers haunts me to this day. In fact, just driving home today I saw a life sized figure of him on a neighbors porch and nearly cause an accident.
ReplyDeletejaidahsmommy(at)comcast(dot)net
Awesome giveaway! I personally like the old school Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Not the newer one but the old ones are pretty good.
ReplyDeleteLisa ~ YA Literature Lover
Thanks for the chance to win all those great books and stuff! The scariest movie I would have to say is The Descent! That is creepy.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably not the scariest movie series, but I absolutely LOVE ALL of the Scream movies. I think the second and the fourth one's are my favorite, though. They just have all of my favorite celebs in them, plus they're so much fun to watch. lol.
ReplyDeleteI definitely made a post for this giveaway that you FIND HERE. I've also tweeted about this HERE and have put the button in my sidebar on the right side, down towards bottom underneath giveaways! :)

The scariest movie I ever saw was The Exorcist. My brother and I watched it about a year ago for the first time. We actually decided to watch it as a joke. We thought it would be kind of cheesy since it was filmed in the 70s and we believed the special effects would be really lame. We were sooo wrong. That movie scared the heck out of us.
ReplyDeleteklamber1 at unca dot edu
The scariest movie i ever saw was paranormal activity. Since i'm scared easily that one was really scary for me.
ReplyDeleteScariest movie to me is White Noise. I know technically it's suppose to a scary movie but it is to me. Thank you for the great giveaway!! I am DYING to read Night Circus.
ReplyDeleteshygrumpychica1@hotmail.com
Being a HUGE fan of horror, it's not too easy to scare me, but the one movie that literally made me shiver was The Strangers. It was loosly based on a true story and could actually happen. When the strangers banged on the house and doors, I was like :|
ReplyDeleteI was a fantastic movie! I just read there's a second movie coming out.. I'll have to read up on that.

What has been the scariest movie I have ever seen?
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one. I think it's between Sleepy Hollow and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you haven't watched those two, check them out. They're scary good! Thanks for this awesome spooktacular giveaway, Trini!
Ooh, and there's also the movie The Craft. Scary, witchcraft good! And snakes...*shivers*

The Amityville Horror was the scariest movie I ever saw. It was based on a true story!
ReplyDeletemittens0831 at aol dot com
When I was little, the original Hills that Have Eyes gave me nightmares for days--it's totally different than the recent remake. As an adult, Blair Witch really messed me up. It had to do with their being so much black screen that my imagination filled in the empty spots making it lots scarier than it actually was.
ReplyDeleteadsanders77 at gmail dot com
There have been a few memorable scary movies:
ReplyDelete. The Amityville Horror
. The Shining
. Scream series
. The Strangers
. Orphan
I love scary movies and I love to be frightened to pieces :) I don't really get into gore though. Nightmare on Elm Street and the Friday the 13th movies all got to me years and years ago. The one in recent years that really got to me was Paranormal Activity. When I really, really want to just get freaked out and plain scared, I love anything with zombies. The Night of the Living Dead is AWESOME! Scares me every time.

Scariest movie I watched was Paranormal Activity. The realistic documentary style made it really scary.
ReplyDeleteangeldream3[AT]gmail[DOT]com
I don't know the name of the scariest movie I ever watched, I just know it was a Freddy Krugger one and I only lasted 15 minutes before I made my friend turn it off. It was one where he kills a girl in the bathroom. He came out of the bottom of the tub or sucked her under or something i don't remember. I just know that I still can't close my eyes while in the bathroom and that was 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie that I have seen is The Exorcist.
ReplyDeletejmesparza821(at)gmail(dot)com
The scariest movies I have ever seen are Psycho, Jaws, and Mrs. Doubtfire LOL just kidding. The other two kept me awake at night, can you guess which ones :) Thank you for the fun and lovely giveaway opportunity.
ReplyDeletedz59001[at]gmail[dot]com
The scariest movie I've ever seen would probably be Paranormal Activity that kinda stuff creeps me out and I still get scared at night sometimes but oddly enough I watch it all the time
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say for me, Silence of the Lambs or The Exorcist...the lady in misery kinda creeps me out too but not so 'scary' per say.
ReplyDeletei don't scare easily but when i first saw the movie the exorcist (the original one) i was too scared to go to my room alone! I would definetly reccomend this movie to anyone who doesn't want to sleep for a night.
ReplyDeleteI guess the scariest movie, that I've seen is Halloween.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie ever - The Exorcist. I will NEVER watch this movie again!
ReplyDeleteI'm not that in to scary movies, but I love scifi, and the scariest movie I ever saw was Alien. It scared the pants off me!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in the eighth grade...a friend and I watched the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre alone late at night. I was terrified. It doesn't help that I live in Texas and always have. LOL
ReplyDeleteKristin
My favorite scary movies are Halloween, Scream, Joyride, The Ring, and The Grudge.
ReplyDeleteCandyman! Watching it always brought me nightmares.

Amnityville horror (the new version) scarred me from every horror movie afterwards. Even if I watch anything remotely scary, I remember that movie, and can't sleep very well. Stupid imagination.
ReplyDeleteThe old version is hilarious though!

I don't really like scary movies, so the only scary movies that I have watched would be the ones that were showing in DAYLIGHT, or the ones that my brothers MADE me watch. The scariest movie that I have seen so far would be the grudge 2. Even though I saw it with daylight, I still had some pretty scary nightmares *shudders*.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movies I ever saw are Exorcist, Saw (all of them), and the Grudge. All of them are creeptastic!
ReplyDeleteAsking me for a horror movie rec. Well, this could take awhile:
ReplyDeleteScream (all of them)
Halloween (all the originals)
Friday the 13th (all the originals)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (all of them)
April Fools' Day (original)
Frozen
Inside (if you like gore)
Insidious
Jack Frost
Let the Right One In
Paranormal Activity (all of them)
Trick 'r Treat
Urban Legend (the first two)
:) That's without going through my massive collection to see what I liked best.
i can't watch scary movies they seemed scary

The scariest movie I've ever seen was the Ring with Naomi Watts.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite scary movie is the original Halloweeen.
ReplyDeleteThe Strangers is one of the scariest movies I've seen. It freaked me out because the strangers in the movie are soo crazy and frightening and its something that could happen for real! AHH!!
ReplyDeleteI Spit on your Grave - that movie is really disturbing too.
I would recommend Paranormal Acticity! It really seems creepy and so does Scream. As for me, the scariest movie that I ever watched was a little glimpse of the movie Missed Call, it looked quite scary! I didn't even last the entire movie! ;) Thanks for hosting the giveaway! It sounds interesting and creepy too! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThe Strangers was scary! I usually love scary movies but that movie gave me the creeps. The Shining is one of my all time favorites also. Jeepers Creepers is good fun especially if you want to sing a catchy tune for weeks later.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest story I've seen is Pet Sematary by Stephen King. Scary book and scary movie!
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie would be The Exorcist or maybe 13 Ghosts. I love horror movies, not so much slasher ones but supernatural are awesome :)

The Ring! I think it had Sarah Michelle Gellar in it. SOOO scary. Would never watch it again! Saw it in the theater with my husband and almost died. So super creepy!
ReplyDeleteJason Goes to Hell is gruesome and terrifying but that is probably just because I was 10 when I watched it & It still terrifies me...I loathe clowns and refuse to walk in front of sewers.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I've ever seen is probably The Ring. It had an ending I didn't see coming and the soundtrack is gorgeous and really helps the atmosphere of the movie.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie would have to be either The Descent or Lost Souls. Lost Souls creeped me out so fully that I still think of it from time to time and I only saw it once, about 10 years ago!
ReplyDeleteOhhh The Shining for sure...That's a classic...I also love The Birds!
ReplyDeleteBecky

The Shining!
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot to scare me because I've watched horror movies since I was very young. I think the one that sticks out in my head the most is Children of the Corn. I can still see the diner scene in my head and I haven't seen the movie in many years. One I've seen in the last 10 years that was pretty scary was 1408 with John Cusack. I think it's based off of a Stephen King novel (who has many movies from his books that I would recommend) and is very scary but without being gory. That's the best. I'm not a fan of slasher/gore movies. Psychological thrillers are the best.
ReplyDeleteI still think The Shinning is the scariest movie. It's the psychological thrillers that get me!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, scariest movie would have to be Dawn Of The Dead, haven't been able to watch a zombie movie since
ReplyDeleteI love horror films, and have seen quite a few that have freaked me out. The scariest ones would probably have to be the original Japanese version of The Ring, Audition, and Children of the Corn. The Ring freaked me out when I first saw it, and it is also because of that that I developed a love for Japanese horror films.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid that movie with the clown, "It" really scared me. I recently watched "Insidious" and thought it was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThe Shining hands down.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read The Shining for a long time now but I'm too chicken out, really!I'm mean if Joey(from Friends) had to shove the thing in the freezer what am I to do?But then again Joey's weird that way.
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I've seen is The Grudge II, pathetic,I know.
I think the scariest movie I've ever seen was "IT" by Stephen King. (Clowns are creepy.)
ReplyDeleteThough I'm counting that more to when I was younger. The Mist is also pretty scary.
<3 Stephen King.
I'm a scary movie wimp. The scariest thing I have seen is The Ring.
ReplyDeleteChildren of the Corn -- I've rented it three times and have never even gotten through the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteWhite Noise has always been the one movie to stick with me and still gives me the heebie jeebies, lol.
ReplyDeleteJudi - Sidhe Vicious
The scariest movie that I ever saw was "The Evil Dead". Just thinking about it gives me the creeps! Those women possessed and cackling on the floor is the stuff of nightmares!!!!!
ReplyDeleteParanormal Activity. I thought it was real, which made it all the more scarier !
ReplyDeleteThe scariest movie I've ever seen is an oldie called The Birds...it gave me nightmares for weeks!

ReplyDeleteAll scary movies scare me. I'm one of those people who sleep with the lights on for a week after watching one. Needless to say, I don't watching them. I would say Nightmare on Elmstreet was probably the last one I watched. Thanks for the awesome giveaway! brendem7@comcast.net

My favorite scary movie is "The Frighteners". It made me laugh and scared the hell out of me.
ReplyDeleteA scary movie that scared me enough to never watch it again is "Jeepers Creepers". Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
A scary one for me is house on Haunted Hill. Its a good one.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch very many scary movies because I have a way too overactive imagination. 28 Days Later really freaked me out for a long time though most people probably don't find it that frightening.
ReplyDeleteCandyman was so scary I couldn't watch it all, and had nightmares. Didn't help that we watched it on the night that my friend had been home-invaded/robbed, and she was staying at my place afterwards! Close runner up, Serpent and the Rainbow, CREEPED ME OUT !!
ReplyDeleteThe latest movie I watched that was pretty scary was Paranormal Activity 3!! I did scream in the theatre a few times!
ReplyDeleteI think House on Haunted Hill is a pretty scary one - I like watching it on Halloween :)
