  1. The classic, Romeo & Juliet. I remember first reading it in eighth grade and being absolutely stunned. It was such a sad story.

  2. I was obsessed with Titanic when I was a teenager. Great forbidden romance!

  3. I never read a classic, so Jace and Clary (Mortal Instruments) made my days :)

  4. Forbidden romance that left me breathless is in Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl between Ethan Wate and Lena Duchannes.

  5. I would also have to say the classic Romeo & Juliet. That is the one that started it all, and it is such a tragic story.

  6. Yeah definitely Titanic, but it left me more in tears than being breathless. Also a movie, not really well known, called Teenage Dirtbag. It is such a great movie about a popular girl and the scum of the school who grow attracted to each other. It is really moving movie about a forbidden romance in high school.

  7. What forbidden romance has left you breathless?
I'm going to have to go with the classic, Romeo and Juliet. I think it really did leave me breathless the first time I read it. (I'm a huge Shakespeare fan.)

  8. Ooh, I like that some others mentioned Jack and Rose from Titanic. I enjoyed Simone Elkeles book, Perfect Chemistry, as well as The Secret Year by Jennifer R. Hubbard, which, of course, come from Romeo and Juliet. Thanks for the giveaway!

  11. I definitely have to agree with Romeo and Juliet being the first forbidden romance to leave me breathless.

  14. I'm gonna be that girl and say... Bella and Edward, haha!

  15. There are so many! I guess I would say Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy b/c of the age difference and b/c he's her teacher!

  16. Definitely Jace and Clary from The Mortal Instruments!

  17. This may sound weird, since they're like 13 but in the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, Will & Lyra. I cried so much at the end of that series!

  18. Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin is actually my favorite forbidden romance story... I cry almost every time!

  19. Maya and Lochan from 'Forbidden' by Tabitha Suzuma! Their love was doomed from the start :( I really wish they weren't related!

  20. I'm going to say Bella and Edward. I admit it-I love their story. :)

  21. I don't know if it counts, but Alex and Lena's "forbidden love" (because he was an Invalid and she was uncured and love itself is forbidden in that universe) from Delirium by Lauren Oliver left me pretty breathless (and in tears).

  22. Edward and Bella left me breathless, so do Jace and Clary.......and Sam and Grace.....and Ash and Megan!!!

  23. I don't know about breathless, but Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma left me speechless. To this day I'm still not sure if I liked it or not.

  24. Alex and Lena from Delirium. I hate that stupid society with no love. What type of moron thinks love is bad! I hated the ending of the book too. It's too sad. I hope they get back together in the end.

  25. Romeo & Juliet is definitely the classic. But I will go with a recent one I finished not long ago and I sooooo loved; Gabriel's Inferno. Professor/teacher relationship, and the professor has some very dark secrets we find out very slowly. Goodness, I love that book :D Thank you again for this giveaway :)

  26. I'd probably have to say A Walk to Remember, that movie is such a tear jerker every single time! I think I like it because unlike most forbidden romances, this one is most likely to happen. With twilight, Edward is a vampire, so that plot cannot happen to me. With Titanic, well... that IS a true story, but 9 times out of 10 that won't happen to me (mostly because ever since I've seen the movie, I've been scared senseless to get on a cruise, but thats beside the point lol). With Romeo and Juliet, well... my family doesn't really fued with other families, we love everyone lol. But with A walk to remember, it can happen... to me! lol I'm not very popular in school (i'm not an outcast, I have friends, but still). And I hate to say it but I have been attracted to the "popular boy" in school before, usually the guy is cocky and one crayon short of a 64 pack if you know what i mean so that attraction doesn't last long, but it's still happened. I'm also a book lover (duh!) and am focused on school so I'm very similar to Jamie. I just haven't found my Landon yet. So I've rambled... sorry lol. But thats why I love AWTR so much, it's believable and so freaking SWEET!!!

  29. I remember seeing this at the bookstore and completely falling for the cover! I couldn't get it at the time though *Sigh*

Hmm, forbidden romance... I'll have to think on that one : )

  30. It will always be Romeo and Juliet! I read that at least once a year because I love it so much!

  31. I would say that Tristan and Isolde is the one that has left me the most breathless. It's such a beautifully tale. :)

  32. I wish I could come up with something more original, but Romeo and Juliet definitely stands out in my mind. I was 13 when I read it for the first time, then read it again as mandatory reading in high school...plus loved the movies...it's so sad but so beautiful.
Thanks for another great giveaway! :-)

  33. Rose and Dimitri from Vampire Academy.....it doesn't get sweeter than that :)

  34. I'm not really a big romance fan and most "forbidden" romances tend to feel really cheesy to me or fake. I enjoyed the relationship between Jace and Clary in TMI, but I knew there was no way they were actually related.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I loved Creed and Jasmine Madigan in Lakota Renegade by Madeline Baker. She was 16 and he was in his 30's, and she was white and he was a half-bred lakota indian/white outcast.

  36. Definitely Romeo and Juliet.

  37. I'm not a big fan of the forbidden romance although I guess technically the one between Claire and Jamie Fraser in Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is forbidden since in the future/past/present she is married to another man.

  38. Okay, I have three that I absolutely love.
    Jace and Clary from TMI.
    Rose and Dimitri from VA.
Jessica and Lucius from the Jessica series.
    Love all three! <3

  39. Hi! Wow, this is a hard question, there are a lot of forbidden romances out there. If I had to pick one, I would probably have to pick Ash and Meghan from The Iron Fey Series. They are from separate courts that are enemies, classic Romeo and Juliet theme! (:

  40. ...
Anita Blake & any of her lovers; Aly & Newat; Jace & Clary; Rose & Dimitri; Meghan and Ash; Endymion and Selene...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hmm that's a tough question. I would probably choose Alex&Aiden from Half-Blood. I love action + forbidden romance so this two are a perfect pair. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. So, I've been reading the answers to your question and they were mainly about Romeo & Juliet (yes, it's a classic forbidden love story and I really like it) and about Jace & Clary from The Mortal Instruments (well I don't really consider them as starcrossed lovers, not since the 3rd book :P).
The forbidden romance that took my breath away was the story about Tristan and Isolde. It's my favorite. It's so beautiful and sad (ok, so all of these forbidden romances are sad). It's a classic love story just like Romeo & Juliet and many others. All these stories are so unique and beautiful, but I'd still choose Tristan & Isolde as the most beautiful.
Forbidden romances are really common these days but I prefer the classic ones. They're more realistic.

  43. I have to go with The Thorn Birds, it's the ultimate in forbidden romanc

  44. I am really liking Archer and Sophie from the Hex Hall series. Archer is just dreamy.

  45. I'm not a big romance fan but I'll go with the step brother and sister from Charlain Harris' Grave Secrets
