My POV: Romero by Elizabeth Reyes

 Adult Contemporary romance.
Published October 24th 2011
Prim and proper middle school teacher Isabel Montenegro always runs the opposite direction from men like Ramon Romero. A foul-mouthed, uneducated, loose cannon has no place in her careful plans. But instead of running away, Isabel is completely captivated. The intensity of his nature, while a bit daunting, mesmerizes her in ways she can’t begin to understand. She’s unwilling to walk away—even when her instincts are screaming at her to run.

Romero has no idea what he's getting himself into when he first kisses Isabel. Shocked at the passion she invokes in him, he believes he can keep his usual short fuse under wraps. Falling fast and hard for someone so flawlessly sweet only makes him more aware that he’s far from perfect. If she is ever witness to his biggest imperfection, he’s sure she’ll bail. But when her meddling sister does the worst thing imaginable—bring other men between him and his Izzy—that fuse is lit and all bets are off.

Can two people who are worlds apart teach each other how to love, or will the reality of their differences drive them apart?--Goodreads

Ok so I can't get enough of this series! Each story makes me what to know so much more about all of the characters in these books because I have fallen in love with each of them. Romero and Izzy's story was so passionate, and crazy, and like the others SO intense.

Romero is a ladies man. Not ever feeling the urge to get to know any woman better(beyond their name and sometimes not even that) he finds it a little striking that Valerie's roommate, Isabel Montenegro(Izzy), catches his interest so completely. He is never one to beat around the bush and act coy but he does catch himself being a little hesitant when it comes to Izzy. As their relationship grows his insecurities about himself (because he doesn't have a college degree) and his family (because they are not the Brady Bunch..lol) start chiseling away at his confidence he starts questioning whether he is good enough for his "perfect Izzy".  And of course it doesn't help that her family doesn't approve. Well at least her sister Pat doesn't.

Isable has always done what is expected of her. She's always done well for her self being Valedictorian of her high school and earning her self a college degree then becoming a middle school teacher. Out of all her siblings she is the only one that has one college degree. She feels ok with that but her older sister Pat has always made Izzy feel that anything she does is not good enough. Let me tell you.. this sister of hers pisses me off to no end and I wish many times throughout this book that someone would slaaap her.(uugh!)  Anyway Izzy fines herself falling hard for the gorgeous and unconventional Romero and her sister is just not having it. Dealing with her own insecurities and putting up with her family's urgings to find someone more suited for her, she at a lost at how to satisfy everyone. Because, she is so close to her family and not wanting to lose their respect while still trying to have a relationship with Romero things start spinning out of control and she has some major decision to make.

Elizabeth does such a great job with putting her poor characters through hell..lol This is not a bad thing let me tell you. It's a good thing because it make these stories so much better when you get to see the characters get through one of the hardest times of their lives. Which is inspiring. I'm so glad I ran across this series in one of the Listopias here on Goodreads because it has easily become one of my favorite series. Sal's story is supposed to comes out by the end of this month and I seriously can't wait any longer. Any of you fans of Jamie McGuire, Simone Elkeles, or Jennifer Echols would definitely LOVE this series.

"Please don't leave me. I promise I'll try harder." Slowly he pulled away and their eyes met. "I'm nothing without you,Izzy."
"Please come home." Her voice broke as she continued. "I made them all leave. I didn't want to have to chose but if they're gonna make me then I choose you. I love you."
"I really an broken without you. Promise you'll never leave me. Izzy."
