Blog Tour: Tempest Unleashed by Tracy Deebs

Hardcover, 352 pages
Published June 5th 2012 by Walker Childrens

Tempest Maguire is happy with her decision to embrace her mermaid nature and live among her mother’s clan within the ocean’s depths. Even though training to one day ascend the throne for the aging mermaid queen is rigorous, she finds refuge in the arms of Kona, the selkie who first opened her up to her mermaid side. But when word comes that one of her brothers has been gravely injured on land, Tempest immediately rushes to his side—which also brings her back to her old flame, Mark. And in her absence, a deadly battle begins raging at the hands of Tempest’s old nemesis, the sea witch Tiamat. As the dangerous war erupts, Tempest’s two loves—Kona and Mark, sea and land—will collide for the first time, both to protect her and to force her to choose.--Goodreads

HOLY Mermaids and Selkies! This baby was good! It was so passionate, so beautiful and fresh I’d love to get lost in this world forever. I thought the first book was good but this book was so much better.

This second book of the Tempest series was full of passion and action. I could not put the book down especially when it came to the Tempest and Mark scenes. I can not get enough of them. The romance between them two is over powering and exciting. I can’t wait to see more of them! And about Kona the hottie Selkie Prince. I don’t want you to think I’ve forgotten about him because I’ve not. He totally holds his own in this book but Mark mans up pretty hard and I LOVE it!

Now lets get to the action. In this book Tempest learns a lot about herself. The main thing she learns is how to use her powers in order to defend herself.  I don’t know exactly what all her power consist of (she doesn‘t know either) but from what I’ve seen Tempest is one tough little lady or should I say mermaid. This story really keeps you on your toes the whole way through. Lots of things happen in a short amount to time it’s a wonder how Tempest still has her sanity by the end.
We get to meet some great new characters like Mahina (Tempest’s best Mermaid) and Sabyn a devilishly handsome, very decorated warrior with a questionable past. One that involves Kona’s sister. We get a better picture of Tiamat. She is the evil witch that killed Cecily, Tempest’s mother and is now intent on killing Tempest. The witch will do anything to get her hands on Tempest even if that means attaching her human family.

We get to see Tempest in a whole new light as she kicks some serious butt while defending her own. In this book she is beautiful, sleek and powerful. She is totally bad ass and has no idea at her full potential. This is now one of my favorite series and I can’t wait to see what comes out next.  Make sure to put this series on your TBR pile. You don’t want to miss out on this one.

"I see you everywhere. In the water, on the street, in the halls at school. Even when I know it isn't you, I still think, maybe..." "I see you every time I close my eyes. I dream about you, about what it was like when you were mine. That's the only time I'm happy anymore, those moments when I'm half-asleep, when you're right there, so real that I can practically touch you."

  1. Tempest said goodbye to her old life in order to accept her mermaid half and join Kona along with her destiny under the sea. She's the one prophesized to save everyone from the evil sea witch Tiamat. If that wasn't pressure enough, she's also being groomed to take over for the Queen when the time comes.
