BLOG TOUR: My POV of EMANCIPATING ANDIE by Priscilla Glenn

Title: Emancipating Andie
Author:  Priscilla Glenn
Release date: April 2013
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Tour organized by: AToMR Tours

Ever since the one time Andie Weber threw caution to the wind - and paid the price for it - she’s learned that it’s safer and smarter to live life playing by the rules. Now she’s got a great apartment, a steady job, and a wonderful boyfriend in Colin; he’s sweet, stable, and essentially perfect – except maybe for the fact that his best friend is Chase.

Chase McGuire lives his carefree, unstructured life strictly for himself. Dripping sarcasm and oozing wit, he refuses to censor his feelings or opinions for anyone, making no apologies for either and wearing his abrasiveness like a badge of honor. No one has ever gotten under Andie’s skin the way Chase does – and vice versa.

So when Andie and Chase find themselves forced to take a two-day road trip together, they are already dreading an inevitable all-out war. But as the trip progresses, and the undeniable friction that has always defined their relationship slowly begins to wear away their preconceived notions of each other, Andie and Chase discover they both have a lot to learn about life, courage, happiness, and the age-old battle between logic and love.

My POV

Is it better to cruise through life in a predictable and content manner or do you take the biggest risk of your life in order to experience spontaneity, passion, and create unforgettable once in a life time memories? This is the conundrum that Andie faces in this story. It is worth the risk? For someone who has had a tragic event happen in the past this topic can be torture and it’s just easier to choose the safer path.
Andie has a good life managing her parent’s restaurant. Her life is strategically organized and planned so there are not surprised. She is content with her choices and doesn’t stress because she knows what to expect on a daily basis. She also has a great boyfriend Colin and can see a future with him.
Colin does all the right things at all the expected times. He’s handsome, reliable, trust worthy, responsible, level headed, ambitious and making his way up in his career.
You must me asking yourself so what’s the problem…well let’s see.
Colin has this friend named Chase…He’s is unpredictable, wild, and obnoxious. He doesn’t have a regular job and hardly follows any rules. He’s not held back by social standards and lives his life how he wants. And the thing is he happens to bring a level of passion into life that not only intrigues Andie but teases her mercilessly into wishing she could be as free as he is.
So now that she has experience a little bit of “freedom” with Chase on their road trip she is left with one of the toughest choices she’s ever had to make. Who will she choose to be with because Colin is the safer choice but is it the right choice? Chase make her feel free and a live but is he the better choice?
Priscilla Glenn writes another great story that give you hope and celebrates love. She hasn’t disappoint me yet and has become an author I look forward to reading more of. Emancipating Andie is her second book which left me emotionally spent and hoping for more.

Oh and I have to mention, Andie’s full name was such a wonderful discovery and a great touch to the story. It’s usually the small things that make the story memorable to me. This is one I think back on and I smile.

  1. The one question I have is: Would Chase, since he doesn't go by any standards, be the kind of guy to cheat on you just because he wants to?
