My POV: Act Like You Love Me by Cindi Madsen

ebook, 242 pages
Published June 10th 2013 by Entangled: Bliss
All’s fair in acting and amore…

Brynn McAdams isn’t the awkward drama geek she was in high school—she’s grown up and confident, or at least she likes to think so. But when her old crush, the impossibly handsome and impossibly unattainable Sawyer Raines, comes back to town to direct her community play, Brynn finds herself determined to be someone other than the girl he doesn’t even recognize. Good thing she’s an excellent actress.

After his bad breakup in NYC, the last thing Sawyer wants is to get involved with another actress. But the glamorous and beautiful Brynn draws him in, even though as her director, he knows she’s off-limits. There’s just something about the woman that feels…familiar. Like home.

As Brynn’s lies start to snowball, she struggles to stop acting and come clean. But what if Sawyer is already falling for the fake Brynn, not the Brynn she truly is?-- Goodreads

My POV
What would you do if your high school years weren't all that good and the guy you had a crush on turned you down and years later he came back in to your life?  Well that's exactly what happened to Brynn.  Sawyer was the guy that she had a crush on who broke her heart in high school and now he is back and he is going to produce the play that she is acting in, how can she pretend that she is still not hurt by what he did.  It's hard to not like him when she still has feelings for him.  But she doesn't want to get rejected again so she figures might as well act as someone else.  But soon he starts falling for her too and she doesn't know how to tell him the truth.
Sawyer has been lied to before and he is scared of getting into another relationship.  He really likes Brynn but he doesn't know the real her.  He is only going to be in town for a little while so hanging out with her shouldn't be a big problem, and he knows there can't be a serious relationship since he will be leaving back to New York.  How does Sawyer tell his heart not to fall for her?  He knows he loves her but can he deal with another serious relationship?  When he finally realizes that Brynn has lied to him he is so hurt because his ex lied to him and now Brynn lied to him too.  He leaves her and goes back to New York.
You can't believe how on edge I was the whole time, I felt bad for Brynn because I knew how she was feeling she didn't want to be rejected and I wanted her to tell Sawyer the truth as well.  You must read this book and this way you can find out if Brynn and Sawyer worked it out or if the lies were too much and kept them apart.
The author did not disappoint.  You will enjoy this book.

Cindi Madsen
Cindi Madsen sits at her computer every chance she gets, plotting revising, and falling in love with her characters. Sometimes it makes her a crazy person. Without it, she’d be even crazier. She has way too many shoes, but can always find a reason to buy a new pretty pair, especially if they’re sparkly, colorful, or super tall. She loves music, dancing, and wishes summer lasted all year long. She lives in Colorado (where summer is most definitely NOT all year long) with her husband and three children.
