BLOG TOUR: My POV of Rome by Jay Crownover + 2 GIVEAWAYS!!

Title: Rome (Marked Men #3)
Author: Jay Crownover
Genre: New Adult
Publication Date: January 7, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

It’s really hard to choose which one of these books (out of the series) is my favorite. But, if I had to choose I would say this is my favorite. This story is full of intense, shocking, steamy and emotionally gripping scenes. I was holding my breath one moment then crying the next. It was draining but so worth it!
Cora has a jaded past so as you can imagine she’s pretty cautious about jumping into a relationship. But, fighting against the attraction between her and Rome is no use. There is just something about the infuriating, grouchy Rome that she can’t get out of her mind. Finally willing to risk a little she takes baby steps into a life with Rome, which is terrifying but she’s trying. When things get tough and they are faced with a life changing surprised their new relationship is put to the test.
Rome is just so hunk-a-lishous! Especially with all his sultry broodiness. But this bad boy has a lot of issues he’s working through and a romantic relationship with anyone is the last thing on him mind. Stubbornly suffering from PTSD alone has made his life a living hell since he’s come home from serving his country and he knows getting involved with anyone would be a horrible idea. But one crazy night (or should I say morning) their relationship gets a jumpstart. When all things said and done Rome is actually the one more dedicated to making it work between them but their road is a bumping one. And, he’s not sure if she’s willing to hold on.
Even though Rome is the least marked of the “Marked Men” in this series he still fits right in especially because Core makes up for it. I love how connected all these characters are and how much they need each other without even realizing it. They are the kind of characters you wish you knew in real life.
This book has a little bit of everything.. comedy, action, drama and I absolutely loved it! Can’t wait for Nash’s story!

"Love isn't perfect. It's hard work and sometimes it's more effort to be in love than it is to just run away."

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
